New Year’s Resolution for Businesses Large and Small

Here’s a resolution that all businesses can probably do a better job of honoring: Start talking to your customers.

Whether it’s through Twitter, Facebook, a blog, or even an FAQ on your website, start a dialogue with customers and commit to sticking with it for the rest of the year.

Can’t remember to keep your blog updated? Add a recurring item in your calendar as a reminder. Thursday and Friday afternoons are usually the time of the week when you have the fewest demands on your time. Set a reminder to write or post something every Thursday at 2pm — that way if you have to snooze it a day you still get your post done before the weekend hits. (As a bonus, these are usually heavier days for casual web browsing too.)
